Meet Connie

Here's my brief Biography:

I was born in Asturias, in northern Spain, in December 1958. Raised as an emigrant in South Africa, after a brief period in Brazil, I received my entire education in British English. Upon returning to Spain at almost eighteen years old, I have now lived here for over forty years. I have worked as a bilingual secretary, but most of my professional life has been dedicated to teaching English in language academies.

My passion for writing has been with me since I first learned to form words. I started writing novels, mostly fiction and in the romance genre, after the pandemic (Covid), in 2021. My fictional stories are inspired by characters I have created, after rediscovering an original source of inspiration, conceived, but thwarted, during my teenage years.

As a fully bilingual author, my novels are available in both Spanish and English editions.

My novels don’t follow a strict order or pick up where the last one left off — but if you look closely, you might spot a familiar face. That’s because, in one way or another, all my characters are connected: friends, neighbours, coworkers... sometimes even family. And somehow, they all find their way to New York —that city that sees everything, hears everything, and keeps every secret— even if their journeys begin in another state, another country… or another lifetime.

Any similarity with real people is a mere coincidence.

 

These are all of "My Heroes" (well... almost all... the family grew since this picture!😁).

They are my Fountain of Inspiration.

I've created them, and now, I turn them into real people as I give them life in my novels and stories.

I'm like the Blue Fairy in Pinocchio! 😄
