Before they left home...

Adam hadn’t even left the house, and he was already sipping champagne and nibbling on canapés!

Honestly, this man is always hungry! 😁

Ah, here they come: the groom and the wedding witnesses, Adam and Tiffany Sheppard!

They’re making their way along the waterfront, laughing and joking as they go…

They’re clearly in high spirits! Ever since they met up, they haven’t stopped teasing one another.

Of course, they’re the first to come aboard… although a few passengers are already there: other tourists and several honeymooning couples.

Two moments of waiting…

The groom is a bundle of nerves, though he’s doing his best to hide it. After all, you don’t get married every day! 😁💍

And here they come…!

The taxi carrying the bride and her entourage is finally pulling up, bringing us one step closer to the big moment… 💍✨

Banita Ruth Barjani is a bundle of nerves… her heart fluttering as the big moment draws near.

In just a little while, she’ll walk down the aisle and become Mrs. Buchanan, ready to begin a beautiful new chapter with the man she loves. 💍❤️

The three of them are about to board the boat…

But Mrs. Wheeler and Anura will go ahead. The bride will make her entrance a little later… and she’ll walk in alone.

But a moment later, the little girl reappears carrying a bridal bouquet… a beautiful gift from the groom to his bride-to-be! 💐❤️

Everything ready on board... In comes the bride...

Everyone is already on board, eagerly awaiting the bride’s arrival…

And the groom? He’s getting more and more nervous by the minute! 💍😁

The groom and the bestman wait while someone takes a photo of the bride and her matron of honor…

The captain is already waiting to begin the ceremony…

The bride hands her bouquet to the matron of honor…

And the wedding ceremony begins! 💐💍❤️

The captain addresses the guests:

“My friends, we are here today, for a very special occasion, on the waters of the Hudson River, beneath the Manhattan skyline at midnight.

Under New York State law, my captain’s license alone does not authorize me to marry you. However, by the authority vested in me as a duly registered officiant in this city, and with the Hudson River, the sparkling lights of New York, and everyone here aboard as witnesses…

I now pronounce you husband and wife!” 💍❤️

Soon after that kiss... all the other "improvised guests" cheered and threw some flower petals over bride and groom.

And now... it is time to cut the cake!

While the newlyweds and their their friends are having fun… Anura heads off with Mrs. Wheeler.

Romantic moments for Maid of Honour and Bestman... Some time alone...

And the newlyweds continue their own little celebration… in private… to enjoy some chocolate cake!

And they continue with their jokes and plays...

And later… Mitch makes sure to have a dance with Mrs. Wheeler. After all, a gentleman never forgets the ladies… especially when they’re practically family!

As the cruise—and the celebrations—draw to a close, it won’t be long before they’re back on shore…

Little Anura is completely worn out. Curled up beside Mrs. Wheeler on a bench, she’s fast asleep. Mitch gently drapes his jacket over his little girl to keep her warm, then looks at Mrs. Wheeler with a grateful smile.

“Thank you for taking such good care of her,” he whispers.

And for a moment, surrounded by the soft glow of Manhattan’s lights, there’s nothing more precious than this… a tired little girl, a father’s loving gesture, and the quiet warmth of people who have become family. ❤️🌙

It has been a day to remember... And very exhausting!

Soon after... off they went on their honeymoon… to Canada, to see the magnificent Niagara Falls!

It was only for a couple of nights, but they had an absolutely wonderful time! ❤️

On their way home, they bought Anura a little teddy bear dressed in the uniform of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Mitch’s idea, of course! 🧸🇨🇦

But… let’s go to the honeymoon!

The very first thing they did after arriving was head out for a stroll to admire the breathtaking Niagara Falls together… 💕🌊

Their first night out for dinner…

At the Revolving Dining Room in the Skylon Tower!

Then she changed and they went to another party where the danced till dawn...

The next day, they boarded the famous Maid of the Mist, the boat that takes you right up to the mighty Niagara Falls… and they had an absolute blast!

And on their final night, they dressed up for a romantic dinner at the hotel… a beautiful, intimate evening to celebrate their love and bring their wonderful honeymoon to a perfect close. ❤️🕯️🥂

The next morning... One last walk before going back home...

Back to routine... Now as husband and wife!

One day they were invited to a cocktail party at the Embassy of India...

They had some photos taken in front of a huge and beautiful picture of the Taj Mahal.

Banita, as a true Hindu, has several saris, and loves having the chance to wear them to the many events at the Indian Embassy.

They had a wonderful evening!

And... as the saying goes... They lived happily forever after!
